NFL Draft Board Analysis

The NFL Draft Board.

NFL Draft Board Potential

The sky’s the limit for Tarvarus McFadden in the 2018 NFL draft. McFadden shows up as a mid-first round pick right now on the NFL Draft Board, but he could easily climb into the top five of the draft depending on team needs.

The 2018 cornerback class appears thinner than the 2017 class. As many as 10 cornerbacks appeared on the NFL Draft Board in 2017, compared to the three that are currently on the 2018 NFL Draft Board.

If too many of the 10 cornerbacks get drafted in the first round of the 2017 NFL draft, Tarvaras McFadden might not get drafted in the top ten of the 2018 NFL draft.

McFadden has the size, 6-2, 198, to cover NFL receivers, so it is hard to see him dropping out of the first round.

In 2016 the Jacksonville Jaguars picked  a Florida State Seminole cornerback with the fifth pick of the draft, Jalen Ramsey. So, it isn’t inconceivable for an NFL team to draft Tarvarus McFadden in in the top five picks of the 2018 NFL draft.

Comparative Position Ranking on the NFL Draft Board

Tarvarus McFadden might have been the top cornerback in the country (Jack Tatum Award)., but he falls behind Minkah Fitzpatrick on the NFL Draft Board. Not only that, but McFadden rates second in his own secondary behind Free Safety Derwin James who was out most of 2016.
