NFL Draft BoardWalter Football wins the award for the first 2018 NFL mock draft. You might say it is too early for a 2018 NFL mock draft. As a matter of fact, you might say it is way too early for a 2018 NFL mock draft. But, one of the most respectable NFL blogs has already published its first 2018 NFL mock draft

Observations on the first Mock Draft

Walter Football’s draft starts off with two quarterbacks going #1 Sam Darnold (the Phenom from USC) and #2 (UCLA’s Josh Rosen). Click here to get your tickets to the game of the year, UCLA Bruins (Josh Rosen) against the USC Trojans (Sam Darnold), November 17, 2017, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Staying with the quarterbacks, for what it is worth, Heisman Trophy winner, Lamar Jackson is projected to go to the NY Jets at pick #20. Jackson is the fourth quarterback listed in the mock draft.

Running back is still falling out of favor. There isn’t a running back projected in the first round. In the 2005 NFL draft, three running backs flew off the board in the first five picks.

No tight ends appear on the first NFL mock draft for 2018. Three tight ends appear on the 2017 NFL mock draft board.

Only two safeties appear in the first NFL mock draft for 2018. Six safeties appear on the 2017 NFL mock draft board.

Outside linebacker/defensive end still appears as a popular first round draft choice. Six outside linebackers/defensive ends appear on the first 2018 NFL mock draft.

Please leave a note when more mock drafts appear on the Internet. I will update the board when more drafts are posted.
