San Francisco 49ers

Consensus PIck: Mitch Trubisky, QB, North Carolina in 6/10 Mock Drafts

Although the Niners need a QB with Kaepernick and Gabbert leaving most likely, it would be best for the Niners to bail out of the #2 pick. The franchise has been a mess since their breakup with Harbaugh. What Lynch/Shanahan will need is more draft picks rather than a high pick QB that the fans will demand to be put on the field. A foundering ship needs leadership. Tony Romo, or the likes, would fit well. Build some depth. Maybe take a QB in rounds 3-7 that can take the time to learn the pro game while the team is built through draft picks.

Hope for the future: John Lynch was a no nonsense player that hit you hard. If he leads anything like the way he played, the Niners will be righting the ship. Lynch won a Super Bowl in Tampa Bay. Being on a championship team and seeing how it gets done is valuable. Shanahan, of course, watched his father win championships in Denver.
